Only 16kms from the town center. You can either drive yourself or catch a ride on the Coronet Peak Ski Bus, you'll find all the details below.
Importantly, we are on a journey to become carbon neutral by 2030 and part of this includes reducing the number of vehicles on our road. So you can help us out through carpooling and using the Ski Bus.

Relax and enjoy the scenic journey to and from Coronet Peak or The Remarkables on our warm and comfortable Ski Bus fleet. Bring your skis and equipment as we can carry it up the mountain and drop you off right outside the base building. All passengers are required to reserve a departure timeslot, pickup location, and select the mountain they are going to when purchasing a Ski Bus pass. Capacity is limited and may sell out over peak periods.
Ski Bus Schedule
As per your ticket, you must ensure you are at the correct pickup location at the time and date specified. You must be ready to board on time. Please be aware that, dependent on the pickup location, your bus may have prior stops to yours but should depart your pickup location within 30 minutes of your booked time.
When you're at the Bus Stop that you have booked, please signal to any passing Ski Bus to stop. Some Ski Buses may already be full or on a different route so will continue driving past, but if you are at your booked Bus Stop at the designated time and on the right side of the road, then when signalled, your booked Ski Bus will stop to collect you.
If you have booked via a third party, please check your booking before you collect your ski pass or through your online account to confirm that the pick-up location, time, date and destination are correct.
If you are driving into town to catch the bus, vehicle parking is also available in central Queenstown at Man St Car Park, close to the Ski Bus pick up location.

A Ski Bus reservation is only valid for the date, time, pickup location, and destination for which it has been booked.
You can change your booked departure date, time, pickup location, or destination for any reason prior to the booked departure time, but subject to availability. You can do this online or through our Guest Services team.

Rideshare: Help us reduce emissions and get everyone up the mountain for more Good Times by car pooling. We recommend the Snow Riders website for coordinating ride sharing.

Check out our Snow Report before heading up for the latest road & mountain conditions.
Snow chains should always be carried during winter. Alpine weather can change quickly, and chains may become mandatory during snowfall or icy conditions. Check our Snow Report for the road conditions before heading up for the day so you know what to expect.
Coronet Peak is just a 20 minute drive from central Queenstown, making it one of New Zealand's most accessible ski fields. From coffee in town to carving cord in under half an hour? That’s a Peak day.
Yes. Drop zones are areas right at the main mountain building where you can drop your family and snow gear off before you park your car. Remember this is just a drop zone, so be ready to all depart once arrived.
Drive with extra caution in these areas as there are many kids, vehicles reversing and gear.
Our road crew will be located at the point on the access road where you’ll need to fit snow chains to your vehicle. Please ensure you pull over to the side of the road before putting on your chains. If you need a hand to get them on, just ask one of our crew.
All vehicles are permitted to access Coronet Peak and 4WD vehicles are not required. However, depending on your vehicle, you may need to fit snow chains, and there can be restrictions on high-sided vehicles such as campervans during inclement weather.
If you’re travelling in a rental vehicle, we recommend checking with your rental company before your visit, as driving on alpine roads or using snow chains is not always covered.
For the latest road conditions and updates, check the Snow Report, which is updated daily by 6:30am.
To find out about daily updates on the road conditions, car park availability and whether snow chains are required, check out the Snow Report on our website.
