What's Included
- Learner Area Lift Pass - Access all surface (conveyor) lifts from 9am – 4pm, with select chairlifts available in the afternoon as you progress:
- The Remarkables: Alta Chairlift from 12:30pm
- Coronet Peak: Meadows Express Chairlift from 12:30pm
- First Timer Group Lesson - 10am – 3:30pm (includes 50 minute break for lunch)
- Lesson check-in on snow: arrive at the Snowsports meeting area by 9:45am, geared up and ready
- Kids aged 13+ may join adult lessons if space allows - see the Snowsports staff at check-in
- Equipment Rental - Includes skis/snowboard, boots, poles, and helmet
- Please ensure you have your MyPass card with you before heading to the Rentals department (details below)
- Please allow sufficient time to get fitted to your rental equipment - we recommend arriving at the base building at least 1 hour before your lesson start time
What's Not Included
- Ski Clothing Rentals - sold separately, see our Rentals products
- For hygiene reasons we do not hire Goggles, Hats or Gloves, but you can purchase these from our retail shop on mountain
Timing & Location
Rentals: You can get fitted to and collect your Rental Equipment on the mountain or the afternoon prior to heading up the mountain from the Snow Centre in Queenstown at 25 Shotover St (applicable to Coronet Peak and Remarkables bookings).
- Please ensure you have your MyPass card with you before heading to the Rentals department.
- Please allow sufficient time to get fitted (to your rental equipment any delays can mean you miss your lesson.
For hygiene reasons we do not hire Goggles, Hats or Gloves, but you can purchase these from our retail shop on mountain.
Catching the Ski Bus in Queenstown?
Please reserve the appropriate Ski Bus departure time (booked separately) for the mountain your lesson is booked for. Ski Bus reservations are not included in this product and can be purchased separately. If you have booked a morning lesson we recommend reserving based on the below times.
- Coronet Peak Ski Bus: please reserve the 7:30am departure time
- The Remarkables Ski Bus: please reserve the 7:30am departure time
Lesson Times: Be at the Snowsports meeting area by 9:45am for a 10am start. Lessons will run through until 3:30pm with a 50 minute break for lunch.
Lesson Location: Arrive at the Snowsports meeting area (look for the flags) on snow by 9:45am with all your equipment ready
- The Remarkables: Directly outside the base building onto the snow
- Coronet Peak: Opposite Meadows Express, just past the east end of the Coronet Peak deck

To Change Your Booking:
You can make some changes to your reservations, subject to availability.
- Log in to your account and head to your Profile page
- Select "OVERVIEW" and then "ORDER HISTORY"
- Find your order and select "DETAILS"
- Select "RESERVATIONS"
- Select "RESCHEDULE" and then your preferred date.
Note: If you made your reservation over the phone or in person, please contact Guest Services on [email protected] (use subject line "Reschedule Reservation").
Changing Lesson Reservations: Lessons are subject to availability and must be rescheduled no later than 24 hours before your lesson start time.
Hire skis, snowboards, clothing, and helmets right on the mountain.
For hygiene reasons, we don’t rent gloves or goggles, but you can buy them at our Mt Hutt retail shop.
To book your rental gear, simply add rentals when booking online or through Guest Services. On arrival, bring your MyPass card to the rental department, our team will get you fitted quickly and efficiently.
Multi-day rental? Take advantage of free overnight gear storage.
We have equipment for adults and kids aged 4+. For younger children, contact us to discuss options.
Choose from top brands like Head, Burton, and Salomon. As your skills progress, upgrade to performance gear. All equipment is regularly tuned for top performance.
Need to swap boots or skis? No problem, visit us anytime for a better fit and maximum comfort.
Absolutely. Coronet Peak is one of the best places to learn in New Zealand, with wide beginner areas, dedicated learning spaces and easy progression terrain. Add in fast lifts, friendly instructors and Queenstown just down the road, and you’ve got the perfect setup for first turns.
Wait your turn
- Line up in the lift queue and wait your turn before sliding forward to the chair loading zone.
Load with an experienced adult
- If you are over 120cm tall you can ride the lift by yourself.
- If you are under 120cm you must ride the lift with an adult
- If you are riding the chairlift with a friend, get your adult to sit between you both to help you on and off.
- Only you and one friend can ride with one adult, if you have lots of friends in your group, other adults will be asked to help.
Sit back-to-back
- Sit all the way to the back of the chairlift so your back is touching the back rest.
Put the safety bar down
- If you are tall enough you can pull the safety bar down, but if you can’t reach it let the adult put it down for you.
Sit still and hold on
- Once you are on the chair and the safety bar is down, sit still and hold on until you are up the top of the mountain.
Let the adult raise the bar and tell you when to slide off
- When you reach the top of the mountain, don’t rush to get off. Wait until you can touch the ground then slide off and enjoy your day.
