Ready to shred under the stars? Here are a few top tips to help you make the most of your Night Ski adventure:
Layer up - the mountain air gets crisp after dark, make sure you pack an extra layer (or two). Think thermals, midlayers, neck warmers.
Low-light lenses - Visibility changes when the sun goes down. Bring goggles with yellow, rose, or clear lenses for better definition under the floodlights.
Gloves, Beanie, & Ski Socks - double check your accessories before heading up. Bonus points if your gear's waterproof and warm.
Water & Snacks - The Café and Bars at the Base Building are open for dinner and drinks, but a water bottle and pocket snack make for an easy mid-lap recharge.
Head Torch (optional) - All Night Ski runs are floodlit with great visibility, but if you’re walking from the carpark or carving late, a head torch can be a handy backup to help you find your way.

The lights come on, the music starts pumping, and Coronet turns electric. But skiing after dark isn’t quite like a daytime lap, so here’s what to keep in mind:
Visibility: Floodlit trails still mean low light. So use low-light lenses to help, and stay in control as hazards can be harder to spot.
Select trails, same Good Times: Night Ski at the Peak includes a mix of green, blue, red, and black trails (subject to conditions) to cater for all ability levels. But it’s not the full mountain, so check the Trail Map and Snow Report for the latest.
Grooming: When conditions and operations line up, we’ll give the trails a fresh groom at 4pm so you might just score your second serve of corduroy for the day.
No BYO: No alcohol (unless sold by Coronet Peak) is allowed on-mountain. Bag checks may happen. Thirsty or hungry? We’ve got you sorted in the base building alpine après.
Worth the drive from Wānaka? We think so, no one else in Aotearoa does nights like this.

Yes, rental gear is available during Night Ski. We’ve got skis, snowboards, boots, helmets plus jackets & pants ready to go, so you can head from town to the Peak with minimal fuss. Pick up from either our Snow Centre in Queenstown the day before or from our on-mountain rental centre on the day.
