Ability Level

Find the right lesson for your skill level—whether you're a first-timer, building confidence, or refining advanced techniques, our ability levels help match you to the best coaching experience.

First Timer

It’s your first time on snow and you’re ready to have a crack.

New to the whole thing? Choice. We’ll keep it simple, fun, and confidence-first. You’ll learn how to move around, control your speed, and make your first turns in a safe beginner area - no stress, just progress.

Let’s Work on:

  • Getting set up with your gear and stance
  • Sliding, balance and moving comfortably
  • Stopping safely
  • First turns and using beginner lifts/conveyors
Learner Zone

You've had your first day on snow and are looking to progress your skills and confidence on beginner terrain.

You’re ready to learn controlled confident, turns. You’ve moved past the first-timer wobble, you know how to stop on beginner terrain and you’re building control. This is where things click: controlled confident turns and feeling steady on conveyor terrain.

Let’s Work on:

  • Turning speed and control
  • Turning foundations (linking direction changes)
  • Balance and body position that actually helps
  • Riding/skiing comfortably on conveyor terrain
Green Zone

You’re comfortable on beginner terrain and green runs and ready to build confidence to prepare for easy blue runs.

You can stop and turn with confidence and control on beginner and green slopes, and you’re starting to explore chairlifts and looking at easy blue runs. We’ll help you link turns with more consistency, handle progressively steeper terrain, and feel more in control top to bottom.

Let’s Work on:

  • Linking turns confidently with control and increasing speed
  • Stopping and speed control on green runs progressing to easy blue runs
  • Chairlift confidence and mountain know-how
  • Tackling progressively steeper terrain
Blue Zone

You’re solid on easy blue runs and ready for more advanced blue runs with more speed and control.

Blues are where it starts getting properly fun. We’ll sharpen your technique, improve your confidence, and help you handle more pitch without feeling rushed. Think smoother turns, better flow, and more confidence as the terrain steps up. It’s not uncommon for people to stay on blue zone terrain for a few sessions to establish good technique and learn about line and terrain tactics, progressing towards red runs.

Let’s Work on:

  • Stronger turning on steeper terrain while retaining good form and technique
  • Better speed control (without panic braking)
  • Building confidence at higher speeds
  • Technique progress and terrain tactics that sets you up for red zone terrain
Red Zone

You can handle difficult blue runs and easy red runs but want be able to ski more of the mountain.

Learn to navigate mountain features, off piste areas with confidence and control varying turn sizes for a feel of mountain mastery. Next stop, black zone terrain! You can handle most of the mountain, but a little coaching will lift your technique and confidence when things get steeper, bumpier, or more variable. This is where lessons get seriously fun!

Let’s Work on:

  • Perfect carving on red runs
  • Tackle variable terrain and mountain features
  • Build off-piste confidence
  • Prepare for black runs
Black Zone (performance)

Now we’re talking performance! You’re comfortable on all terrain and in all conditions but and want to go from good to great and dial up the precision. It’s the realm of Technique Tuneups, Private Coaching and our Performance Programmes.

You’re not here to just get down, you want to ski/ride well in anything the mountain throws at you. We’ll fine-tune technique, tactics, and confidence so you’re stronger on steeps, smoother in rougher snow, and more in control when it gets real. You get here, and people will notice!

Let’s Work on:

  • Steeps: control, rhythm and commitment
  • Moguls and variable terrain tactics
  • Off-piste confidence and decision-making
  • Technique mastery – you’ll feel great and look great
  • Cleaner, more efficient turns at speed
